Think you have the talent to be a writer? Have the determination and plenty of creative ideas? How about perseverance?
If you don’t have the perseverance, all your other good traits may be useless. Because success for a writer usually does not happen over night. Success for most writers is a long-term process. It is a process of trial and error.
Let’s say you want to be a writer of flash fiction. Just because you write emails does not mean you’ll be good at writing flash fiction. You have to read flash fiction. You have to study flash fiction. Yes, I said study flash fiction. You have to write flash fiction. You have to have a pretty good handle on grammar, punctuation and the basics of diction and syntax. You have to be well versed in the craft of writing.
Then you have to keep at it. My little flash fiction blog may be able to help keep you going. It is also a paying market. Sign up for your free subscription today.
New Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette is a flash fiction blog of short stories, culture and nude women.
