Yesterday, I published post number 600 of the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction. It’s been an exciting and frightening journey. Exciting because I dig publishing this blog. Frightening because the earlier version of this blog was banned because of the adult nature of its content. The earlier version of the blog had four years worth of content on it, over 4,000 posts. I was able to save only about 300 posts.
So yesterday’s publication of post 600 is cause for celebration. Now I’m working on the next 600 posts.
This business of being a webmaster is no joke. I had to purchase a new URL. Get a new host (HostGator) who had no problem with the adult content. I have to fix broken links. Think up new content every day. Write stories for the gangbang series. Read submissions. Pay my contributors. Market the magazine through social media. Pass out my business card to people I think might want to read the magazine. Use tags wisely for the best SEO results. Keep the focus of the blog on tips for writing erotica for money and so on and so forth…
And I’m not successful yet. I hope I’ve finally laid the foundation for success, especially since I recently reset the settings of my sitemap which had been denying search engines access to the blog!
The Pirates were swept three games to none over the weekend by the Milwaukee Brewers. It’s still a little early for me to cover the Pirates. I’m just a casual fan like a lot of people. I guess we feel it’s too early in the season to get excited about rich men playing a game.
The Pirates are in Cincinnati today for another series.
