Writers of erotica, here’s an online magazine just for you. I’m the Old Soldier, a Vietnam War veteran and the webmaster of this site. Welcome to my little magazine of erotic flash fiction.
Now that I’m retired, I’m a full-time blogger. I’m also a writer of flash fiction and I know what it’s like to be a struggling writer. The Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette is here to offer you practical tips on how to write flash fiction and to give you moral support. It’s not easy being a writer. The vast majority of writers do not make a living writing. They make a living doing something else.
But it is my conviction that a writer should be paid for his or her work when it’s good enough. That’s why this magazine is a paying market. Only a lucky few get to showcase their work in the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette. And once a writer is accepted for publication, that writer enters the charmed circle of writers that I depend on for stories (and poems) all year-long.
I want to publish the best erotic flash fiction on the Internet. I’m looking for erotic flash fiction that is not only good entertainment, but is good enough to be art, too.
Don’t submit blindly. Study the magazine. Read some of the stories by the other guest writers who have been published in the magazine. Give yourself the best possible chance of getting published. Follow the submission guidelines. You may only get one chance at publication. The Old Soldier doesn’t have time for writers who don’t do their homework. I run the magazine just like a business because it is a business.
So, explore the site. Start with the front page. This is a magazine published by a writer for other writers. We’re all in this together. Keep reading and writing that erotic flash fiction.
This is the Old Soldier reporting from Pittsburgh.
