Guy Hogan is my name and blogging is my game. Hello, all you rock ‘n’ rollers! It’s a dark and stormy night in The ‘Burgh. Several thundershowers have passed through the area. As I sit at my workstation lighting flashes in the distant night sky. What am I doing up at 3:00 a.m.? Well, when you’re retired any time is a good time to blog. I can publish this blog post and go back to sleep and get up when I damn well please.
In seven days I’ll be back on my regular beat in Bloomfield (Little Italy). I think I’ve blogged just about all I can about Schenley Plaza and the campus of the University of Pittsburgh, both in Oakland where I live, for this month; but now it’s time to turn my attention back to Little Italy as I always do the first two weeks of every new month. The plaza and the campus may still inspire me to publish a few more blog posts about Oakland, but I can feel Little Italy calling me.
All systems are go for karaoke at Sonny’s Tavern in Little Italy the first Sunday night of next month. I’ve more or less settled on the songs by The Doors that I’ll sing and I’ve been religiously doing my deep breathing, flexibility and stretching exercises.
I think The Gazette has hit a plateau. So far this month my little girlie magazine is averaging 822 pageviews every day. I project that this magazine will probably average between 800 to 1,000 pageviews every day for the rest of the year. That’s not a bad thing. I’ll just keep adding value to this site until the dynamics change, until I hit a critical mass, and there’s a break through to more than 1,000 pageviews and beyond. Blogging is definitely a marathon, not a sprint.
Hail to Pitt!
This is Guy Hogan reporting for the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette. Today in Pittsburgh there will be a mix of clouds and sunshine with a high around 85 and a 50% chance of rain. All photos of Amy Lee Summers were sampled from Egotastic All Stars. If you are not a regular reader of The Gazette, now would be a great time to sign up for a free email subscription today.
Now back to bed…
