It’s a new day and another opportunity to do some blogging. Hello hello hello, everybody! Guy Hogan is my name and blogging is my game. I never left my apartment building yesterday. I like to get in a good walk every day as long as the weather is pleasant. But yesterday the weather was not pleasant. It was chilly, overcast and gloomy. I went down to the lobby and looked out of the ceiling to floor window that runs along the front of the lobby at the workmen working on the sidewalks of the neighborhood and I turned around and took the stairs back up to my apartment.
But this morning the sun is out and the high will be around 70, splendid weather for a walk around the campus of the University of Pittsburgh and through Schenley Plaza.
I pretty much have the three songs I’m going to sing at Sonny’s Tavern in place for karaoke the first Sunday night of November and I’m working on my breath control. I’ve even been doing a lot of spot cleaning of my apartment because once I get some fun money in my pockets the apartment can take care of itself. I never have any visitors anyway. My real concern is will I be able to continue to give the same amount of attention to this blog after I get my fun money and start hanging out in Little Italy during the first half of November as I give to it when I’m not hanging out in Little Italy during the last half of November. This is my most pressing personal and professional struggle, but I’m lucky.
If that’s all I have to worry about I’m really lucky. And so far I’ve been very lucky. There are people all around me in my age group that I keep in touch with like family and acquaintances at Armand’s in Little Italy that are in bad physical shape. I simply have to work on my blood pressure which I do by exercise and walking and a no salt and low-cholesterol diet and focusing on low fat meats like fish and chicken without the skin and adding garlic to my diet. And eating this way is no problem at all. Add to all of this the fact that I’m retired which allows me to be a full-time professional blogger, I really have nothing to complain about…
