Here are some bits and pieces for 16 June 2014.
Hello hello hello, all my fans of erotic flash fiction who live all over the world! Lately, I’ve been ending a lot of the posts on this blog by saying that I feature a different erotic flash fiction story on the front page every day. So this morning I get up and click on the category Erotic Fiction by Guest Writers in the sidebar to get the next featured story only to find that the next submission is a poem.
What to do? What to do?
I decided to feature the poem. That’s why “Erotic Poetry: An Evening Of Passion by Kandy Sparks” is featured on the front page.
Featuring a different erotic flash fiction story (or poem) on the front page has proven to be very popular. But there are only around 40 submissions in the archives by guest writers to feature on the front page. What happens when I’ve exhausted these submissions? Do I start over? Should I feature more of my own stories on the front page?
Maybe I should start featuring articles and commentaries on the front page, too. Featuring a different post on the front page is something I definitely want to continue to do.
Here are a few more bits and pieces for 16 June 2014.
My publishing schedule for submissions is full until November. The last time something like this happened I shut submissions down. But then I had to contact different directories and inform them that my submissions were shut down. Then when I reopened my submissions I had to go back to the directories and inform them that I was open again.
What a mess.
The budget of the magazine allows me to publish just two writers every month. So, I’m not going to shut down submissions this time. But being accepted for publication in this magazine just got tougher. I don’t like it, but it’s the new reality as the magazine becomes more popular. Not only does a writer have to be good; now a writer has to be lucky, too.
These are some of the bits and pieces for 16 June 2014.
Keep reading and keep writer that erotic flash fiction. I feature a different post on the front page every day. This is the Old Soldier reporting for the PittsburghFlashFiction, a new kind of girlie magazine.
