Hello, hello, hello, all you rock ‘n’ rollers! Welcome to today’s edition of the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette, the blog of culture for adults only.
I love my job.
When people ask me what do I do, I don’t tell them I’m retired. I tell them I’m a full-time blogger. Well, this full-time blogger should be on his regular beat in Little Italy tomorrow, drinking beer at Armand’s and then a quick stop at Sonny’s Tavern on the way back home. Armand’s opens earlier (around 10:00 a.m.) than Sonny’s opens.
One of the first things I plan to do tomorrow morning besides my deep breathing, flexibility and stretching exercises (karaoke at Sonny’s Tavern Sunday night) is to pay HostGator $110.00 to host my little girlie magazine another year. HostGator backups up The Gazette every 24 hours for $20.00 a year and I rent my URL from HostGator for $15.00 a year. I highly recommend HostGator. If I have a technical problem that I can’t deal with on my own all I have to do is phone HostGator at any time of day or night and one of their representatives will talk me through the problem to a solution. My friends, I speak from experience. HostGator is worth every penny I pay them.
Well, for the time being it looks like I’m going to stay with having between 90-100 posts stuck to the front page. I’ve been influenced to do this mainly because of two far more successful online publications, Gothamist and The Huffington Post. And I like the idea that when a visitor lands on the front page of my little girlie magazine, he or she can tell at a glance what The Gazette is all about. A lot of people will not like what they see.
And then there will be others who will be cool with everything that they see. You know you can’t beat that with a stick!
Hail to Pitt!
This is Guy Hogan reporting from Pittsburgh.
Today in Pittsburgh there will be more clouds than sunshine with the possibility of rain and a high around 60.
