Hello, hello, hello, all you rock ‘n’ rollers! I can’t wait to get back to my regular beat in Little Italy Friday (Armand’s Bar) and Saturday night (karaoke at Nico’s); but today is just Monday and I still have some serious blogging to do before April madness begins.
I checked my stats page this morning and saw that the number of page views for this blog for this month had surpassed the number of page views the blog had gotten for February 2016. And there are still three more days to go. My stats page only goes back to April of 2015, but since then every month has brought an increase in page views over the previous month. Sometimes the increase was only a couple of hundred page views and sometimes the increase was several hundred page views. And as the trajectory of page views has continued to rise so have the number of visitors to this blog. What do I think is going on? What do I contribute these numbers to?
- The constant addition of new content. I like to blog every day. I don’t always achieve this goal, but I always try to blog every day.
- Content that my core audience finds helpful or informative or entertaining.
- A landing page that screams, keep reading me!
Of course, there are other reasons why the traffic of this blog keeps going up. Some that I’m probably not even aware of. A blogger can only attempt to influence factors that he or she is aware of. But the point of this blog post is that as long as your traffic keeps going up, you’re doing something right. Now growth can be sporadic. It doesn’t have to go up every month; but over all growth no matter how small is a good thing.
If you are a blogger who wants more traffic, stagnation is bad news.
