Hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, all you rock ‘n’ rollers! Yes, I’m excited. In less than 48 hours I’ll be back on my regular beat in Bloomfield (Little Italy). After I do a little food shopping at the supermarket in Little Italy, I’ll retrace my steps back to Armand’s in Little Italy for my first cold beer of the month of June 2016.
You know you can’t beat that with a stick!
And then Saturday night there’s karaoke at Nico’s Recovery Room in Little Italy and then Sunday night there’s karaoke at Sonny’s Tavern in Little Italy. If you can’t make it to the shows you can read all about them right here in the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette: is karaoke an art form or just for fun? I plan to be at both shows as a participant and as a reporter for the City of Pittsburgh’s only magazine of culture for adults only.
Karaoke is just one of the topics covered by The Gazette. There’s blogging, and film and television (videos by Naked News) and glamor photography of nude women. Did I say that this is a magazine of culture for adults only? Yes, I see that I did.
And this magazine covers flash fiction, too.
There are literally dozens of flash fiction stories (mainstream and erotic) on this site. I wrote about half of the stories (mainstream and erotic) and the other half of the stories (mainstream and erotic) were written by talented writers from all over the world! If you like to read flash fiction this is the place to be. If you like to write flash fiction this is the place to be. There are over 100 posts on this site about how to write flash fiction. I won a fellowship for grad school from the University of Pittsburgh in 2003 because of my flash fiction and I taught it to undergrads at Pitt between 2004-2006. And over the years I’ve made money writing flash fiction. I know flash fiction. When it comes to writing flash fiction, I won’t steer you wrong.
The July issue of The Gazette will be a special flash fiction issue (four new stories). You don’t want to miss it.
Add to all of these delights any bits and pieces that I hope will entertain or inform or inspire you, and I can confidently say that The Gazette is an excellent value for the money: it’s free!
So, don’t hesitate any longer. If you are not already a member of our community, why don’t you bookmark or follow or take out a free email subscription right now. It won’t hurt a bit. There are now just over 2,000 posts on this site for your reading pleasure.
Hail to Pitt!
This is Guy Hogan reporting from Pittsburgh.
PS Today in The ‘Burgh it will be a mostly sunny, humid day with a high around 80.
