Our brave new world of erotica is finally upon us. We live in the Age of Erotica. It started with the novel, grew to strength with the movies and now it has exploded over the Internet. Porn is mainstream. Sex is art and entertainment.
I believe in our brave new world of erotica. I believe the writing of erotica can bring out the best that a writer has to offer.
I believe the best erotica can serve as an accurate mirror of the world we live in.
Hello hello hello, my brother and sister readers and writers of erotica. Earlier today, the Old Soldier found himself standing against a building at a bus stop at the intersection of Forbes Avenue and South Craig Street. I wasn’t waiting for a bus. I was just being: feeling the rays of the sun on my face and watching crowds of people walk by.
The campus of Carnegie Mellon University was two blocks up the avenue to my left. The campus of the University of Pittsburgh was two blocks down the avenue to my right. Most of the crowds were made up of young people, probably college students, many of them speaking in languages other than English.
I just took in the whole scene, trying to remember what it felt like to be young and in college with the promise of the future stretching into the mist in front of me.
I knew some of the young people walking by would never make it to old age like I had done. And some of them would be famous in their chosen fields, unlike I was.
After a few minutes, I turned back for home.
