Hello, hello, hello, all you rock ‘n’ rollers everywhere! Guy Hogan is my name and blogging is my game. It’s a sunny day in The ‘Burgh today and the high will be around 80. I’ll be strolling to the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh (the public library surrounded by the campus of the University of Pittsburgh) for some new books after I publish this blog post and I’m seriously thinking of doing a little cleaning of my humble apartment. The windows are high on my bucket list.
Yes, now that I’ve spent my fun money for June, I can get serious about blogging and cleaning again.
But I digress…
The New Format
I’m always agonizing behind the scenes about the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette, my little girlie magazine.
How does it look? What about the color scheme? Is it easy to navigate? Is it interesting? And so on and so forth. I’ve become a student of other more successful national and local websites; and last night I decided to make a major change to the front page, the landing page.
Up until last night I had 90 posts stuck to the front page. Some were recently published and others were rotated from the archives. Some of the posts rotated from the archives were stuck to the front page on a semi-permanent basis. But after studying the more successful websites over a period of several months I came to the conclusion that my front page (my landing page) was just too clunky.
So, now there will be no posts stuck to the front page. Zero! Zilch! Nada! This means that there will always be a constant flow of new content and I can concentrate on making new content and not the mechanics of rotating blog posts back and forth.
Also, each page will only contain 18 posts so that the two columns of posts on each page (including the front page) will end more or less where the sidebar ends. If a visitor wants to check out the different Categories in the archives, he or she can simply scan the sidebar and click on whatever he or she finds interesting. At least I hope it works that way.
Will the new format help me to reach my stated goal of at least 10,000 visitors and at least 30,000 pageviews every month?
Only time will tell…
Now let’s turn our attention to our nude pinup for this post. Her professional name is Michelle Superwoman. I’m not kidding. That’s her professional name. Right now she lives in Paris and she is of Chinese-French heritage. All of her photos were sampled from Egotastic All Stars. Michelle, we wish you great success in you modelling career.
