What do Chinese restaurants have to do with niche sex blogs? Well, I can tell you what one Chinese restaurant has to do with this niche sex blog.
This blog is a niche blog. What is a niche blog? It’s a blog that usually focuses on one subject. My focus subject is erotic flash fiction.
Hello hello hello, all my fans of flash fiction who live all over the world! Guy Hogan is my name and flash fiction is my game. I was strolling through Little Italy (Bloomfield) today and I ended up in Lawrenceville. Little Italy is right next to Oakland which is the neighborhood where I live in here in The ‘Burgh. Lawrenceville is right next to Little Italy.
But I digress.
Lawrenceville is happening. The arts are revitalizing this working-class neighborhood. There are cafes, vintage clothing outlets, craft shops, cool restaurants, live music venues…You get the idea. I even saw a gym for training boxers and ads for live boxing matches.
As I was walking back up this long hill from Lawrenceville to get back to Little Italy I saw this little Chinese restaurant on a side street. The side street was next to a vast hospital. I thought to myself, who even knows this restaurant is here? The restaurant looked like a private dwelling with a little sign out front announcing that you could find Chinese food inside. Really?
I walked in to check the place out. It had like four tables and a cooler of soda pop in front of a short counter that a woman stood behind. I asked her for a take-out menu and left.
I thought, how is this place staying in business? Then I had an epiphany.
This was a niche Chinese restaurant. It’s niche was that it was next to this vast hospital. The staff of the hospital knew about it and no doubt many of the patients and their families and friends found out about the restaurant through the staff. And in this way the entire neighborhood got to know about this little hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant.
So, this blog focuses on erotic flash fiction. That’s my niche. I’m hoping that my little sex blog has found its true niche, that I have positioned it just like that Chinese restaurant.
