The Old Soldier is ready to announce the coming attractions for September 2014.
But first I have one more flash fiction story by a contributor to publish in August. “Fireworks For Carol” by Lucas Forgewright will appear before the end of this month. You don’t want to miss Lucas Forgewright’s first appearance in the PittsburghFlashFiction.
And in September I’ll publish another writer for the first time. Helena Bolana will make her first appearance with “The Birthday Party.”
I must have published around ten stories by Heather Kinnane, the talented writer of erotica from Australia. And I’m happy to welcome Heather back in September with “Forbidden Desire.” You don’t want to miss it.
Then the Old Soldier intends to visit and report on karaoke at Nico’s in Little Italy the first Saturday night in September. I hope I’ll be able to catch karaoke at Nico’s the last Saturday of this month; but I’ll definitely be at Nico’s for karaoke the first Saturday night in September. And of course I’ll be hanging out at Armand’s in Little Italy, drinking beer, shooting the breeze, observing and listening and thinking deep thoughts about life and death and flash fiction.
Because of the new format, featuring two posts from the archives on the front page every day (this site has around 800 posts in the archives), I’m able to be more of a blogger. I’m able to add more content to this site about every day things without always thinking like an editor or a publisher of a magazine.
I’m still a webmaster and I love my job as the editor/publisher of Pittsburgh’s #1 literary magazine for adults who enjoy reading erotica; but now I can be more of a blogger, too. You know what I mean? I like being a blogger. It’s freedom.
This is the Old Soldier (I served in Vietnam) reporting for the PittsburghFlashFiction, a blog of commentary, pop culture and sex as art and entertainment.
