(I wrote this in my pocket notebook in Armand’s in Little Italy.)
After walking from North Oakland to Little Italy (about a fifteen-minute walk) the air conditioning in Armand’s feels great. I don’t have air conditioning in my apartment. I use a fan.
I’m sitting on a high stool next to the window, my pocket notebook resting nicely on the windowsill. It’s early afternoon and out on the avenue most women are in shorts or minis or yoga pants. I never really pay much attention to the men. And as always this blog is on my mind.
The blog is averaging around 10,000 visitors and between 30,000 and 35,000 page views every month; but I’m not making any money from the book on the site or from subscriptions to Mr. Skin and Naked News. Either I’m not attracting the right kind of visitors or I’m not pushing the book and subscriptions hard enough or maybe I just need to double my traffic.
I’m active in promoting the blog on social media.
So, if the answer is more traffic I need to blog more often; but maybe it’s not the answer. Well, I’m going to try to blog more often and see what happens. I think I have a good product (the blog) here. It’s just that I put far too much time and effort in this blog just for it to be a hobby.
And the beat goes on.
