I just came back from shopping in Bloomfield (Little Italy) with a package of hot sausage for my crock pot. The crock pot is such a great invention. I love crock pot cooking. When the hot sausage is done, I’ll saute some onions and green pepper in some ground meat on the stove, drain it, add the hot sausage and then pour a can of spaghetti sauce over everything and let that simmer for a while.
Several weeks ago, I bought ten boxes of spaghetti that was on sale for $10.00. I’ll be eating spaghetti until the sauce runs out.
But you can’t beat crock pot cooking.
Little Italy Days
Today is the last day of the Little Italy Days street festival. As I walked through Little Italy this morning, vendors were setting up their booths along the side walks and on that part of Liberty Avenue that’s blocked off to vehicular traffic.
Armand’s was open for business, but I won’t have any beer money until later this week. And I was happy to see that Del’s Italian Bar and Restaurant is advertising karaoke again on Friday nights. I’ll probably be at Nico’s this Saturday night for karaoke.
