The Old Soldier will publish the flash fiction of five writers this month.
Hello hello hello, all my brother and sister readers and writers from all over the world! It’s a rainy, warm summer afternoon in Pittsburgh. I’ve already had a couple of beers at Armand’s in Little Italy and I brought back a six-pack of beer. So, I’m ready to work.
I’m finally going to clear out the backlog of flash fiction stories that have been sitting in my slush pile. Then in August we will start fresh with “The Last Date” by Lori Schafer.
And starting in August, I’ll publish one poem a month from the poems that I have backlogged until they are all cleaned out. I’m just waiting for PayPal to say that it got the money that I transferred from my checking account so that I can pay my writers. I figure the money should be available by Thursday.
To make sure that I don’t get another backlog, I’ve accepted the fact that I can only publish one writer every month. So, if you are thinking about submitting a story, make it your best. You are up against some stiff competition.
This magazine is my passion and it’s also a business. And I intent to make it a profitable business for myself and for the writers that I publish.
This is the Old Soldier reporting from Pittsburgh.
New Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette is a magazine about creative writing, culture and sex.
