Welcome to my little girlie magazine, an online magazine of culture for adults only! At the heart of this online magazine is the flash fiction story. Flash fiction has no agreed upon length. A flash fiction story could be anywhere from 500 to 1,500 words long. Not only is flash fiction defined by how it’s compared to a regular-length short story which can be anywhere from about 2,000 to 5,000 words long. The flash fiction story is also defined by how much of its meaning is implied, because the very short length of the flash fiction story forces the writer to distill his or her written language while at the same time telling a complete story of narrative movement that contains a beginning, middle and end. You will find no better examples of the flash fiction story than here at the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette.
The Autumn Leaves Of 2016
Today is the official first day of fall 2016. It will be another lovely day in Pittsburgh. It will be a day full of sunshine with a high around 85 and no rain. But even during the last several days of lovely weather, I’ve noticed brown leaves in the green grass in front of the entrance of the main branch of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh whenever I take a stroll into Oakland and through Schenley Plaza and the campus of the University of Pittsburgh.
I’ve always felt the changes of the seasons is mother nature’s way of reminding us that time waits for no man or woman. I’m a blogger. I’m a full-time professional blogger. I still have work to do. It’s time for me to get back to work.
Hail to Pitt!
All photos of Ekaterina Zueva were sampled from Egotastic All Stars. Checkout my book in the sidebar. The stories in the book got me into the grad writing program at Pitt in 2003 and won me a fellowship valued at around $60,000 that allowed me to finish my MFA in fiction writing in 2006. I think every fan of flash fiction should own it. Be sure to save the file.
