This morning I walked to the ATM right down the street and withdrew the last of my fun money for July 2016 from my checking account. Then I strolled into Bloomfield (Little Italy) for my last few beers at Armand’s for this month. I won’t get anymore fun money until the first day of August 2016. My downtime will only be eleven days before I have more fun money and that’s okay. I’ll work on The Gazette and clean my apartment.
The next few days will be days of reflection and sobriety. And I have karaoke at Sonny’s Tavern in Little Italy on the first Sunday night in August to look forward to. I’ve already begun my deep breathing, flexibility and stretching exercises for Sonny’s and I’m debating with myself what songs by The Doors to sing. I don’t want to do the exact same set every time even though I only sing at Sonny’s the first Sunday night of every month. Once a month probably means the turn over of customers is pretty good. A lot of new people are introduced to karaoke as an art form; but I don’t want the regulars to get bored, either.
