I got some unexpected fun money yesterday, a Christmas card from my older sister and her husband. My sister is now the matriarch of the family since our mother died last year and she and my brother-in-law (I always sense he doesn’t approve of me because of The Gazette and my drinking) are far better off financially than I am. Big sis is looking out for me as usual.
So, yesterday I immediately hot footed it (actually I took a bus) to Armand’s in Little Italy. I didn’t check my snail mail until it was nearly dark outside. It was unusual for me to be in Armand’s at night. I’m usually there in the morning. The place was crowded. I knew the names of most of the customers. Several women were there, too. Few women are there in the morning. Women give a bar a different vibe; or, maybe it’s just me. I had three cans of beer and some good conversation and I got a six-pack to go.
Today I’m going to go across the street to the dollar store and get supplies for the apartment and in that way I won’t feel guilty about spending the rest of my Christmas fun money at Armand’s.
Last year I did not mention our mother’s death in the pages of The Gazette because I don’t tell you everything. She was 95 years old.
What adventures in blogging will we share today?
