The Old Soldier is in a daily fight to bring originality to this online girlie magazine.
Hello hello hello, fans of erotic flash fiction who live all over the world! Guy Hogan is my name and this girlie magazine is my game. Playboy Magazine was my inspiration to turn this blog into a girlie magazine; but the modern girlie magazine goes back to around 1900 when publication and distribution costs became cheap enough so that a successful girlie magazine could be a profitable business.
Still, it was Hue Hefner, the founder of Playboy Magazine, who proved that a girlie magazine could publish high-profile interviews, serious journalism, first-class fiction and well-written life-style articles alongside photos of naked women and could find a large, mainstream audience. I haven’t read a Playboy Magazine in years, but the magazine was an original.
I want this magazine to be an original. How? Here are some of the things that I hope will create a synergy of originality.
- First-class erotic flash fiction
- A serious approach to porn as art and entertainment
- Promotion of flash fiction as a unique art form
- Karaoke as performance art
- An interest in Little Italy in Pittsburgh
- Coverage of things of city-wide interest
- Insights into how to write flash fiction
- To provide a community for readers and writers of erotica
- Coverage of things that impact veterans
These are just some of the things that make up the fight to bring originality to this girlie magazine.
Tomorrow is the official start of summer. This summer would be a great time to explore this site. This morning when I checked my dashboard, I saw there were 700 posts on this site. This blog post is number 701.
You can’t beat that with a stick!
