Yesterday after computer school I stopped in at Nico’s in Bloomfield, Pittsburgh’s “Little Italy.” Jackie was bar tending. The bar top is in the shape of a horse shoe. Joyce was a few stools down on my side. She lives alone and is older than I am. She has several ailments and the patrons and the staff are sort of an extended family for her. They look out for her. She doesn’t drink.
A guy named Mike came in. He recognized me from when he and I use to work together in a supermarket, Giant Eagle in East Liberty, years ago when I was a Super 8 filmmaker.
I actually made a full length color film with sound entitled, Death in Pittsburgh. I played a serial killer. The film had a well attended premier and an after movie party with the band, Thin White Line, that did the music for the sound track. Bobby Porter was the front man for the band.
Well, Thin White Line is no more but I have Death in Pittsburgh on tape. Mike said he would check out The Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette.
I had two beers and left.
