The Old Soldier (that’s me) is enjoying a lazy Wednesday in the City of Champions. I strolled down to the Pitt campus and stopped in at the public library and listened to The Doors on YouTube on the library’s computer network just for a change of pace since I can now listen to The Doors on YouTube in my apartment. But I wanted to get out of my apartment and to stretch my legs on this sunny, warm (high around 80) summer day in my hometown.
I should have some fun money by Friday, but there’s nothing much for me to do right now besides assume my favorite position which is flat on my back on the sofa with two pillows under my weary head and read or watch movies on DVDs on my laptop or listen to news, sports or classical music on the radio. This slow pace of life is normal for me at the end of the month when I’m broke.
Right now classical music is low on the radio as I jot these notes in my notebook. I find it interesting that Charles Bukowski’s alter-ego Henry Chinaski, who is a low-life alcoholic but talented writer, loves to listen to classical music on the radio too especially when he’s alone in his shabby apartment getting drunk just like I like to listen to classical music on the radio when I’m alone in my shabby apartment getting drunk; I just have to wait a couple of more days to do it…
And while I’m waiting for my fun money to arrive you can explore the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette. Besides around 2,300 posts on blogging, karaoke, sexy stories and topless women you will find around 210 Naked News videos on this site and I’m constantly adding new Naked News videos. Why the newest 10 Naked News videos are pinned to the front page. And next week I’ll start publishing the four erotic flash fiction stories by Heather Kinanne and Jean Michelle that will make up the July fiction special. You know you can’t beat that with a stick! You don’t want to miss the July erotic flash fiction special. So, take out your free email subscription today. All photos of Fanny Francois were sampled from Egotastic All Stars. This is Guy Hogan reporting for the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette.
Hail to Pitt!
“I love to drink beer. It goes well with certain foods. It goes well with friends and acquaintances and it goes well when you’re alone. I’ve been a happy beer drinker my entire adult life and I’m not going to stop now. Some people have said to me maybe if I didn’t drink so much beer I would have accomplished more in life. What they don’t know is that if it wasn’t for beer I would have jumped out of a window a long time ago. To begin with beer helped to keep me sane after I came back from the Vietnam War.”
