Hello, hello, hello, you rock ‘n’ rollers! It’s an overcast day in The ‘Burgh today. There will be more clouds than sunshine with a high around 85 and a 70% chance of rain and thundershowers. I may not get my usual walk around the neighborhood in today. I’m like a weed. I need sunshine.
But I digress…
I am passionate about blogging. I’ve been blogging for about 15 years, but this version of the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette has been online for only about two and a half years. I know other baby boomers who are retired like I am who do nothing but drink. Oh, I do my fair share of drinking. Don’t get me wrong; but their idea of retirement is to do nothing: no hobbies, no interests they invest time and effort in and no opening of a little business. Nothing but drinking. Well, to each his own. I need to do something, something that I have a passion for.
I’m so lucky. I can’t wait to get up every morning to turn on the computer and to check out what’s going on in the world; and then it’s time to do some blogging. And The Gazette has finally evolved from being a hobby to being a real business. I’m happy to announce that my little girlie magazine is now on course to begin operating in the black within a few months.
Spank my bare bottom and call me a nudist. You know you can’t beat that with a stick!
I grew up with Playboy Magazine; but never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d edit and publish an online girlie magazine. And The Gazette is not your average girlie magazine. The Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette tries to appeal to bloggers and writers; but bloggers and writers are not the only readers I hope the magazine attracts. I hope The Gazette also appeals to fans of karaoke, movies, television and all those who appreciate glamour photos of nude women.
So, join me and my contributors on this journey of discovery. If you are not already a regular reader of The Gazette, now would be a great time to sign up for your free email subscription today.
Hail to Pitt!
