No matter what field of creativity you’re in, it can be a real struggle to stay creative. So, how can the writer of flash fiction stay creative?
Now I’ve met writers who don’t seem to have any problems with creativity. They can’t stop writing. They can’t write fast enough. But I’m not one of those writers. And if you’re not one of those writers, I feel your pain.
So how can you and I stay creative?
Well, the simple answer seems to be to stay engaged with life. To do the things you like to do. To be with the person or the people you like to be with. And to do the things you have to do like work a job, go to school and pay the bills. And sometimes try something different. Maybe even do it with someone different. (Don’t get too crazy. You don’t want to end up a statistic. A writer has to survive in order to get his or her work done.)
But staying creative is not that simple. Sometimes, often times, a writer needs time away from life in order to put life down on the page or up on the computer screen.
The truth is that there is no simple answer to staying creative. Creativity is an ever shifting give and take between the writer’s life and the writer’s imagination. Each writer must find his or her own path to continuous creativity. Just realize that it can be done.
So keep the faith and keep writing.
Hello, all my fans of erotic flash fiction! Guy Hogan’s my name and flash fiction’s my game.
It is going to be a gorgeous day in The ‘Burgh, the high around 67 with plenty of sunshine. It will be a great day for the Old Soldier to stroll into Little Italy for a few beers at Armand’s. (That’s one of the ways I try to stay creative.)
But before I do, let me offer my humble girlie magazine as one way for you to stay creative. There are now over 900 posts on this site. Explore the site. I’m sure you’ll find something that will get your creative juices flowing. I’ve already updated the front page.
This is the Old Soldier reporting for Pittsburgh’s #1 girlie magazine of erotic flash fiction and nude female celebrities.
