As you can imagine, the challenges of becoming a good flash fiction writer are many. There are even more challenges to being a successful flash fiction writer.
Hello, all my fans of erotic flash fiction who live all over the world! I’m going to post this and then take a stroll through Little Italy. It’s a sunny morning in The ‘Burgh and the high will be around 80.
Let’s assume that you eventually become a good flash fiction writer. Then what? It would be nice to make some money at writing flash fiction, right?
Well, just so you know, 99% of all writers do not make a living at writing no matter what kind of writing they do. Those are the facts. So, even if you do become a successful flash fiction writer, you will need another source of income or support in order to live your life. Flash fiction and being a successful flash fiction writer will just add spice to your life. But let’s say you are determined to make at least some money from writing flash fiction.
But this is what you can do to move the odds in your favor. Pick a genre of flash fiction that makes money: like erotic flash fiction. Then search out and find several paying markets for erotic flash fiction and become a regular contributor to those markets (I have no idea how many there are besides my magazine, but there must be others. You have to do your homework. Some of my contributors publish eBooks of their erotic flash fiction, too.) And then learn how to promote your erotic flash fiction (Twitter is my favorite social media for promoting this magazine).
Of course, making money at writing flash fiction is not as simple as I make it sound, but this advice will get you headed in the right direction.
Feel free to leave comments anytime to let me know how I’m doing.
