Ever get stumped for a good idea for a flash fiction story? I know I have. I marvel at reports of writers who never run out of ideas, who can’t write fast enough to get their ideas down and out to the public.
Well, if you’re not one of those writers, don’t worry. All the great writing ideas that you will ever need are at your finger tips; because fiction is based on the experience of living. And if you’re reading this you’re alive.
Just by being alive, all the ideas you’ll ever need will find you. What you have to do is learn the form of the flash fiction story inside and out. That way, as you live your life, you’ll be able to identify situations that would make for great flash fiction. Your imagination will do the rest. It’s not so much, where to find great ideas as it is how well do you know the structure of flash fiction.
There’s only one way to drill yourself on flash fiction. You have to read flash fiction. You have to think flash fiction. You have to write flash fiction.
That’s how you find great flash fiction ideas.
