Welcome to the most exciting flash fiction blog on the Internet. Writing a one-character flash fiction story has special challenges. That’s because every story must have narrative movement and narrative movement depends on something being resolved.
Unfortunately, many writers forget about narrative movement with a resolution when they deal with just one character. Too often these writers fall into the trap of having the story take place in the character’s mind. This will work if the character has an epiphany that leads to a resolution.
Of course, if your character is struggling, let’s say, with nature or against anything that is keeping your character from doing something, that will work, too.
Just make sure your one-character story resolves something.
