Without imagination, a flash fiction writer is lost.
Hello, my brother and sister bloggers, poets, readers and writers from all over the world. It’s the Old Soldier reporting from Pittsburgh on a partly sunny, mild (60s) college football early Saturday afternoon. The University of Pittsburgh football team plays its second game of the season today against the University of New Mexico at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, after a season-opener lost to Florida State. But I digress.
Yes, this post really is about Imagination, Inspiration and Celebration.
Imagination is the organizing principle that a flash fiction writer’s talent and life experience must go through before the writer can end up with a story. It is in the imagination that the writer creates something out of nothing. It is in the imagination that the writer weights what is possible and how to get from inspiration to celebration; for the writing of a flash fiction story is a celebration. It is a celebration of life.
So, when writing your flash fiction story, know that it’s your imagination that gives you your power as a writer of flash fiction stories.
Pittsburgh Pirates Need To Win Division
As I write this, the Pittsburgh Pirates are in a struggle to win their division with only a handful of games left in the regular season. Why is it important for the Pirates to win their division? Because the team may not make the playoffs if it doesn’t.
According to the hosts on the radio sports show that I listen to, it’s a matter of numbers. Several other teams may end up with better numbers for the few wild card slots that are available.
And even if the Pirates do win one of the wild card slots, it’s only a one game series with the loser going home. The Pirates need to win the division, but Cincinnati and St. Louis will have something to say about that.
