The Old Soldier got a chance to scan the latest copy of Interview Magazine today. Interview was founded by Andy Warhol. So everyone in Interview is either a celebrity or a high-priced model pushing high-end consumer merchandise. Like I said, I scan Interview. I don’t read it. I like to check out how it’s formatted.
Hello hello hello, all my brother and sister readers and writers of erotic flash fiction. Well, the Old Soldier is back from his walk on this mild (50s), sunny day in Pittsburgh. I didn’t walk through Schenley Park like I planned to do. So I didn’t get a chance to stand and meditate in front of the home where Andy Warhol grew up. I did get a chance to meditate on writing erotic flash fiction as I sat in the library, turning the glossy pages of Interview.
The Pittsburgh Flash Fiction is no Interview; but I’m actually happy with the look of my little magazine and its editorial direction. I’m confident that’ll I’ll find a solution to the low number of pageviews (27) the magazine gets every day. I really don’t know what a reasonable number of pageviews would be. Right now 100 pageviews every day looks pretty good; but that still seems low.
Only time will tell what’s reasonable.
In the meantime I’ll continue to concentrate on the quality of the content. Even though erotic flash fiction is the core of the magazine, the reach of the magazine goes far behind its core subject.
Last night I found myself once again on YouTube downloading (or is it uploading) music videos. This time I overloaded on Heart. What a great rock ‘n’ roll band! The Wilson sisters could rock. I even watched a behind the music video on Heart. What a soap opera. And then Ann put on all that weight and no matter how good her vocals, all the reviewers could talk about was her weight (just like I’m doing).
Rolling Stone has Heart on its list of the 100 greatest rock bands of all time. Heart is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
One of the things that this blog is good at is offering useful tips on writing erotica in general and erotic flash fiction in particular; but you have to read the magazine on a regular basis to take advantage of this resource. Sign up for your free email subscription today.
This is the Old Soldier reporting for the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction, a magazine of great gangbang stories, culture, local interest and sex as art and entertainment.
