Hello, hello, hello, all you rock ‘n’ rollers! A new day of blogging has begun. Today we will have a mix of clouds and sunshine in the Pittsburgh area with a high around 80. That means I’ll get in a couple of good walks around the neighborhood. Overcast, rainy days make me want to hunker down in my small, seedy but comfortable apartment. But today I’ll be out and about.
This presidential election is a mess. It would be funny if it wasn’t deadly serious. Just because I’ve decided that politics does not belong in The Gazette doesn’t mean I’m not paying attention. And the same goes for the Olympics; although there are more feel-good stories coming out of Rio than feel-bad stories.
Which brings us to my own feel-good, fee- bad story. One of the core topics of this online magazine is blogging. I tell you about my experiences as a blogger for two reasons: you may find my experiences as a full-time blogger at least mildly interesting and if you happen to be a blogger my setbacks and successes may help you in some way with your own journey as a blogger.
Well, my pageviews for August 2016 continue to slide from an average of 871 pageviews every day to 810 as of this morning. And I don’t know why. I would guess that Google has once again changed its algorithms as it does on a regular basis. I was hoping to get at least 25,000 pageviews this month like I got last month. Now I don’t think that’s going to happen. Time is running out. Oh, well, such is life. I’ll just soldier on. There are far worse things in life than a low pageview count. And besides, I’m retired and I love to blog…
