Hello, hello, hello, all you rock ‘n’ rollers! Welcome to today’s edition of the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette, a blog/magazine of culture for adults only.
Yesterday was a beautiful day in The ‘Burgh (mostly sunny with a high around 70) and today is a beautiful day in The ‘Burgh (sunny with a high around 75). I went walking through Schenley Park yesterday again and I’ll probably go walking through Schenley Park today. All that walking helps to keep me in shape.
In preparation for karaoke in Little Italy next month (Nico’s the first Saturday night of the month and Sonny’s Tavern the first Sunday night of the month), I punched up several documentaries about The Doors on YouTube. I do this to not only refresh my knowledge and understanding of the band, but I also get to study Morrison’s on stage persona, his mannerisms and body language.
And I looked up Top of the Line Entertainment on the web. It’s the company that provides the DJ’s for karaoke at Nico’s and Sonny’s Tavern. Here are the songs by The Doors that the company has in its song book.
- Alabama Song
- Back Door Man
- Been Down So Long
- Break On Through
- Hello I Love You
- Light My Fire
- Love Her Madly
- Love Me Two Times
- People Are Strange
- Riders On The Storm
- Roadhouse Blues
- Touch Me
You know you can’t beat that with a stick!
Now I’ll start rehearsing all of these songs so that I won’t have to sing the same set Saturday and Sunday nights.
That’s all for right now.
Hail to Pitt!
This is Guy Hogan reporting from Oakland in Pittsburgh.
