Hello, hello, hello, all you rock ‘n’ rollers all over the world! Guy Hogan is my name and blogging is my game.
How’s everyone doing?
I hope you’re doing well. I’m doing well. Sure I wish I was younger and handsomer and richer and taller; but hey, I publish the City of Pittsburgh’s only magazine of commentaries, culture, movie reviews, sexy stories and topless women. So how bad can it be?
Well, I do have some good news and bad news for you. The good news is that Nico’s in Little Italy will be open the day after New Year’s Day (which is a Saturday) for Saturday night karaoke. I phoned Nico’s yesterday and everything is cool. I plan to be at Nico’s Saturday night.
The bad news is that the readership of my little girlie magazine may have hit a plateau at least for one month. For the past nine months visitors and page views have been going up and up and up; but December’s visitors and page views may not surpass November’s statistics. In November the magazine got 5,845 visitors and 17,588 page views. As of this morning The Gazette has 5,033 visitors and 15,357 page views. And there are only a few more days left in this month.
Visitors and page views are something I watch very closely.
Later on today I’ll stroll into Little Italy and pick up a six-pack of beer at Armand’s. I’ll stroll back to my apartment building (bus transportation on a Sunday sucks) and listen to the Steelers on the radio at 1:00 pm and drink beer as I stretch out flat on my back on the sofa with two pillows under my weary head and watch silent films or porn or whatever I find interesting on the computer while I listen to the game. Last night I listened to the Eagles and Redskins football game as I watched Mabel Normand in the full-length silent film Mickey; but I fell asleep before the ending. And it was pretty good. I had drank several beers and was tired. Maybe I’ll watch it again all the way through during the Steelers’ game this afternoon.
This is Guy Hogan reporting for the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette.
Hail to Pitt!
Today it will be a cloudy day in The ‘Burgh with periods of rain and a very unseasonably mild high of 68.
