Welcome everybody to my little girlie magazine! My name is Guy Hogan. I’m the editor/publisher of this online magazine and the mission statement of the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette is to entertain, to inform and to inspire. Even though this blog is Pittsburgh centric, it also covers issues that give it an international appeal. What’s not to like about blogging, karaoke, movies, sexy stories, television and the female nude?
I’ve been blogging around 14 years. Several of my other blogs failed. Two were shut down because of adult content. Well, I finally wised up and started blogging on a blogging platform that allowed adult content. This is the third version of the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette and it is my most successful blog. It won’t be shut down for adult content. It’s been online since February 2014 and as of this morning it is averaging 891 pageviews every day for September 2016.
I’m a baby boomer and retired which allows me to be a full-time blogger; and since I invest money in this blog (for hosting, domain, daily backup and $30.00 per published story for each of my paid contributors) and I try to make money as an affiliate of Mr. Skin/Naked News and from my book in the sidebar (be sure to check it out), I’m also a professional blogger. And like any editor/publisher of any magazine I have to watch my bottom line or I’ll go broke. I’ve always been working class. I’m still working class. I’m risking capital with the hope of supplementing my social security and two pensions. But I love my job. I can’t wait to get up every morning to blog. When people ask me what do I do, I don’t tell them I’m retired. I tell them I’m a full-time professional blogger.
You know you can’t beat that with a stick!
So, the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette is not a hobby. It’s a startup, a business.
And like any business I try to give my customers a reason to come back again and again and again. Explore the site. This is post #2,200. You are sure to find something of interest on this site. If you are not already a regular reader of the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette, now would be a great time to sign up for a free email subscription today.
Hail to Pitt!
