There’s a Family Dollar store across the street from my apartment building and every time I shop there I’m inspired to blog about it.
Hello hello hello, fans of my little girlie ezine who live all over the world with a special hello to all you new visitors in the audience! I’m reporting for duty.
Well, I just came back from shopping at the dollar store across the street. I love saving money. Don’t you? Of course you do. This is what I bought.
- Reese Snack Pack $1.00
- Standard Writing Tablet $1.00
- Six Roll Bath Tissue Package $1.00
- Palmolive Dishwashing Liquid $1.00
- Antiperspirant $1.90
- Toothpaste $1.25
- Laundry Liquid $2.00
- Deodorant Soap Package (2 Bars) $1.00
- Tax 0.48
You know you can’t beat that with a stick!
So, you don’t have to be a struggling writer to save money shopping at a discount store. But there’s a catch. Don’t buy what you want. Just buy what you need. Now I did buy the Reese Snack Pack, but hey, one out of eight ain’t bad.
Well, not only did I get money for household supplies today. I also got some fun money. You know what that means. I’ll be back on my beat in Little Italy in about one hour, sitting at the bar in Armand’s, drinking cold beer and eating peanuts as I think deep thoughts about life and writing.
This is the Old Soldier reporting for the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette.
Today there will be a mix of clouds and sunshine in Pittsburgh with the possibility of scattered showers and maybe a thunder storm with a high in the 70s.
Hail to Pitt!
