Dateline Pittsburgh: 09:15 a.m.
I sit at my workstation working on the PFFG and I have the local 24/7 sports show on the radio and it’s bright and freezing outside and at 01:05 p.m. the Jacksonville Jaguars play the Pittsburgh Steelers here at Heinz Field and I will probably see at least the first half of the game at Armand’s in Little Italy since I refuse to own a television since I found out that I get much more blogging and reading and writing done without the distraction of a television which makes perfect sense to me.
A moment ago I turned off the water in the shower after letting it run for a couple of minutes to see if the hot water would get hot enough for me to shave and it only got warm and I’ll have to decide whether or not to shave when the time comes, hoping the water will get hotter.
No hot water no shave and I want to shave if not my head at least to shave my face. I don’t want to look like an old stumble bum badly in need of a drink which may be true but there is no need to look like one.
Hello hello hello, all you rock ‘n’ rollers everywhere and welcome to my blog, one of the coolest blogs on the internet! Yes I’m a legend in my own mind. This is your Baby Boomer Papa reporting for duty. Guy Hogan is my name and blogging is my game.
Once again I wonder why people call into sports talk shows on the radio or even why talk shows are popular with the hosts and the callers predicting the score.
Just wait and let the teams play the game…
But then I also realize that it’s nice to talk sports and to find out what other fans are thinking. It’s like belonging to a community of like minded folks. We all need a feeling of belonging. After being retired for several years and after living alone for many more years than I’ve been retired I know I have a need for belonging, a need to feel part of a community. It’s no doubt why hanging out at Armand’s and singing karaoke at Sonny’s Tavern is so important to me.
I’m slowly losing the battle to average at least 1,000 page views every day for this month. This morning I was averaging 1,067 page views every day for this month so far when I started out at around 1,350 page views every day earlier in the month. There is no need to panic but the trend is not good and there really isn’t much I can do about it except to continue to blog and do the other things that got me 1,350 page views every day in the first place. The good news is I’m still averaging around 250 visitors every day. My visitors just aren’t reading as many pages. Page views come in cycles.
Hail to Pitt!
