Hello hello hello, all you rock ‘n’ rollers out there wherever you may be! Welcome to today’s edition of the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette, the city’s premiere blog of short stories, commentaries, pop culture, things Pittsburgh and sex as art and entertainment.
How’s everyone doing?
Every May 1st is a celebration of labor throughout much of the world. Working men and women are the bed rock of American society. They make up the working class and the middle class. But in the United States the working class is finding it more and more difficult to make ends meet even on a forty-hour work week and the middle class is disappearing. When will the vast majority of the American people start voting for their own economic interests instead of voting for the economic interests of the top 1% of the population?
But I digress…
Yes, the Old Soldier got his fun money today and I will be back on my regular beat in Little Italy this morning. That means drinking beer at Armand’s today and checking out the karaoke scene at Nico’s on Saturday night. And I’ll be covering the Pittsburgh Great Race on Sunday. The route usually goes through Little Italy right down Liberty Avenue.
Explore the site. I’ve already updated the front page.
