What strange weather we’re having in Pittsburgh today. The man on the radio says today in Pittsburgh it will be sunny with a high of 62! Yes, I said 62! What the hell is going on? It’s late November…
Hello hello hello, all my brothers and sisters everywhere! Your friendly retired baby boomer is reporting for duty. The blogging day has begun. What adventures in blogging will we share today?
Well, not only am I surprised about how warm it will be today in Pittsburgh, but I’m also surprised that one of my pension checks cleared early.
You know you can’t beat that with a stick!
So, I will have some fun money in my pockets three days earlier than I thought I would have some fun money in my pockets. It’s around 8:00 a.m. In a couple of hours I’ll stroll into Little Italy for a couple of 16-ounce cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer and some socializing at Armand’s then I’ll probably stop in at Sonny’s on my way back home. I’m interested in seeing what the new renovations look like at Sonny’s.
As usual I fell asleep last night on the sofa with the Bloomberg business report low on the radio and silent films on auto play on my laptop that sat facing me on my workstation, thinking about what I was going to blog about this morning. I fell asleep watching the silent films of Mary Pickford and I didn’t come up with anything to blog about…
A friend once told me that nobody wants to read about the mundane details of my uneventful life and she was right. I know she’s right. What she didn’t understand is that the search engines need a constant flow of original text whether it’s about mundane things or not in order to keep this blog ranked high enough so potential visitors can easily find it for certain search terms. Then when the visitors get here there’s plenty of interesting stuff to keep them happy. There are nearly 2,500 posts on this site. A visitor is sure to find something on each visit that will entertain or inform or that will inspire. Yes, there is a method to my madness…
Hail to Pitt!
“The idea of publishing a diary/magazine intrigues me. I really think I’m doing something original. And if I am doing something original or at least cutting edge, maybe my life isn’t as uneventful as I believe it to be. And if I’m not doing something original or cutting edge I’m still having a blast.”—Guy Hogan
“It’s only rock ‘n’ roll but I like it.”—Rolling Stones
