Hello, fans of my little girlie ezine and all you who are new to the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette! I’m back from my stroll into Little Italy. I had a can of beer (16 ounces) and a bag of peanuts at Armand’s and then I strolled back home stopping at Sonny’s Tavern for another can of beer (24 ounces) and another bag of peanuts and some great juke box rock and roll (Paul Revere and the Raiders, The Doors, The Animals, The Cult, Kansas and Scandal) and good conversation with Kelly (she’s blonde and she’s cool) the bartender and Paul (one of the owners) and I got a six-pack of beer to go.
A good morning.
Sonny’s has big doings this holiday weekend. There’s a band (The Plums) on Friday night that Paul says plays great rock ‘n’ roll and something else cool is going on Saturday night. But I forget what it is. I’ve been drinking, you know (I had another beer before I started this blog post and I had two beers when I got up this morning). Since there will be no karaoke at Nico’s in Little Italy because of the 4th of July holiday (what a pity), I may end up at Sonny’s this weekend. I don’t know.
But I digress… (Yes, I consider myself a functioning alcoholic, but I do not own a car).
This is my new submissions policy. I now publish a new story by a contributor every month. This will end in February of 2016. Starting in March 2016, I will publish a new story by a contributor every other month. Submissions are closed now until March 2016. I will still pay $30.00 a story.
The first five publishable stories that I get when submissions re-open will be the stories I publish for 2016 and submissions will immediately close once again until January of 2017. I don’t want to plan too far ahead. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone.
