I’m flat on my back on the sofa with two pillows under my weary head, reading my library book about Andy Warhol and waiting for the Pirates baseball game to be broadcast on the radio. I have a large bottle of Coca-Cola to sip from sitting on the low table.
Rain is on the way, but the Pirates are out west at the Colorado Rockies. So it will be a late game. The Steelers reported to training camp today.
I would like to have more commentaries in the magazine about sports; but I’m really not a sports fan. I use to be. But now that I’m older, sports are not that important to me. I’m more into karaoke. I sing karaoke. I don’t play sports.
I’ll be at Nico’s in Little Italy for karaoke next Saturday night.
I’m half way through my book on Andy Warhol. I’m at the point where Andy is concentrating more on making movies than painting. And there is a lot of information about The Factory, his work studio/party-madhouse.
I try to use what I learn from life and from everything I read to make myself a better online publisher. Andy Warhol had a lot of success. He also made a lot of mistakes. I think what I’m finding out about Andy Warhol will make me a better online publisher. I hope so.
A different post from the archives will be featured on the front page tomorrow. Be sure to come back tomorrow.
This is the Old Soldier reporting for the PittsburghFlashFiction, an ezine of commentary, pop culture and sex as art and entertainment.
