Welcome to today’s edition of the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette, an online magazine of blogging, film, karaoke, short stories, television and the female nude. What a wonderful mix of subjects. I’m retired, but I look forward to waking up every morning and working on this blog. I work harder on this blog (and put in more hours thinking about this blog) than I ever did working for someone else while I was in the workforce. Why do I work so hard and put in so much time on this blog? When I was in the workforce it seemed to me that I was working on someone else’s dream. When I work on this blog I know I’m working on my dream. But it’s only because I’m retired, that I have a small but secure income, that I can be a full-time professional blogger. Oh, I make a little money from this blog, but if it wasn’t for social security and two pensions I would starve to death. To make a long story short, I’m having a blast being a blogger.
You know what retirement feels like to me? It feels like freedom…
