It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood today. White clouds float against the blue sky and the high is around 80. I walked toward the campus of the University of Pittsburgh.
Oakland was full of students. People were stretched out on the green grass of Schenley Plaza, many of the young women in two-piece bathing suits, and nearly all of the tables around the plaza were filled with people enjoying the middle-eastern and Asian cuisine that’s sold by the ethnic restaurants that serve the plaza. I walked around the campus, watching the sights and listening to the sounds and smelling the good smells of another fall semester.
I decided to catch the bus back to my apartment building. I stood at the bus stop and hummed music by The Doors to myself.
I will have fun money on Tuesday.
The days are bright
And filled with pain
Enclose me in
Your gentle rain…
