The Old Soldier has around ten boxes of pasta he got on sale several weeks ago. I made a batch of sauce for my pasta yesterday. I added onion and green pepper to some ground beef that I browned in a pan on top of the stove and then added a can of pasta sauce and I let it all simmer down. Now when the really bad weather hits Pittsburgh on Monday and Tuesday, I won’t have to leave the apartment for food because I’ll have plenty of hot pasta to keep me warm. The high is suppose to be around five degrees on Tuesday.
Yesterday was sunny with the high around 40. The Old Soldier marched into Little Italy for my food supplies and I ended up at Armand’s for a couple of draft beers and for some beer to take home. Armand’s is located on Liberty Avenue right in the middle of the commercial district. Across the street is the East End Book Exchange, a small bookstore that carries paperback copies of my book, Compressionism: The Pittsburgh Stories. The fiction in the book is literary fiction, but the Old Soldier has a hand-written invitation at the front of the book, to visit this online magazine of erotic short stories, along with my signature.
I think it’s a nice personal touch and it might bring the magazine some new readers. The book is also available in e-book and paperback formats from the front page of this magazine.

This is the Old Soldier reporting from near the University of Pittsburgh. Be sure to check out all the great erotic flash fiction that is on the site. When erotic flash fiction is good enough, it is art, too.
