Hello, all you rock ‘n’ rollers. Usually, a holiday is just another day for me. But last night I got an unexpected phone call from a lady friend. Yes, I do have a couple of them. She offered to buy me lunch today. How sweet. And I’m not being condescending. For all you cynics out there, it is sweet.
I really don’t know that much about her. She’s a senior citizen, too. I wonder what she would think of this blog.
(And then I whispered in her ear and I lost another friend–Led Zeppelin).
I met her years ago at Del’s. Del’s was an Italian restaurant in Little Italy that had karaoke on Friday nights. She and I met one Friday night at karaoke. She has a weak but nice voice. She sings old show tunes. I mean we’re talking young Judy Garland here. We met and became friends. Del’s closed a couple of years ago; but she and I would bump into each other in Little Italy and one day we exchanged phone numbers. Oh, I don’t tell you everything. I don’t put everything in this blog. One day I bought her a drink at Armand’s.
Anyway, I’m to meet my lady friend today at noon. I’ve never eaten at the place she suggested. Although I know it doesn’t serve beer. But it’s her treat and I’m lucky to get out of the apartment and to share someone else’s company. I live like a hermit. I’ll be on my best behavior.
