The Pittsburgh Pirates have secured the home field advantage for the wildcard game on Tuesday.
Earlier today, the Old Soldier was dozing on the sofa when he woke up in time to hear the Pittsburgh Pirates get the last out in an 8 to 3 win over the Cincinnati Reds on the radio.
So, Cincinnati will have to come to PNC Park and the Pittsburgh Pirates will play their first playoff game in 21 years.

The Old Soldier fell asleep on the Pirates because of all the walking he got in today. It was a sunny day with the high in the 70s. A lot of other people had the same idea. Hikers, joggers and people riding bicycles were out in force.
Coming Attractions For October
October is almost here. You can look forward to a month of posts about writing, culture and sex. The Old Soldier has already started to practise the three songs he hopes to get a chance to sing at karaoke at Nico’s in Little Italy next Saturday. So, there will definitely be another report about karaoke as performance art. I have two sexy flash fiction stories from two writers already picked out; and there will be a constant flow of content that I hope will inspire, inform and entertain you.
Keep reading and keep writing that sexy flash fiction.
This is the Old Soldier reporting from Pittsburgh.
