We are living in the age of sex as art and entertainment. Sex has always been the subject of art and entertainment. It’s just that the Internet has put sex as art and entertainment into overdrive. The Internet has made it possible for most of us all over the world to satisfy our craving for sex as art and entertainment in the comfort and the privacy of our homes. It is my contention that we are in the mist of another sexual revolution.
The most recent sexual revolution was brought about by the event of the birth control pill. For the first time in history, women had a reliable and easy method of birth control. Women could have sex with far less fear of an unwanted pregnancy. This released the inner goddess of millions of women. Women lead that revolution.
Now women are in the forefront of this new sexual revolution of sex as art and entertainment as writers of erotica and pornographers. Who better to make a video of a woman having sex than another woman?
It’s a brave new world, my friends. Enjoy it. There is no turning back.
Hello hello hello, all my brother and sister readers and writers of erotica! The Old Soldier has finished his breathing and stretching exercises (karaoke at Nico’s in Little Italy Saturday night) and after I post this and putter around I’ll probably stroll into Bloomfield to see what I can see.
It will be sunny and hot (around 80) today in Pittsburgh, a good day to have a few cold draft beers at Armand’s and to sit on my favorite stool while I watch Liberty Avenue and think deep thoughts about life, death, writing and karaoke as performance art. I like the way some of the young women at Nico’s turn their backs to the young men they dance with, bend over and grind their butts into the men’s groins. I guess that’s a kind of performance art, too.
I know writing erotica, good erotica, is definitely a form of performance art. To do it well, a writer must become a performance artist. And I have a posse of writers of erotica who are performance artists. Just go to Categories in the sidebar and click on “Guest Writers.” You will find Anna Bayes, Lori Schafer, Gwil Thomas, Alexa Night, Bethany Sage, Heather Kinnane and others performing at the top of their game for your reading pleasure.
This is the Old Soldier reporting for the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction, a magazine of sex as art and entertainment.
