This publication is the new blog. The old blog was shut down because there was too much sex in the content; but I’m self-hosting this blog. So, I can have as much sex in the content as I want without the worry of being shut down again.
But this blog is about a lot more than sex (and so was the old blog). All you have to do to see that this is true is to look at the front page or the sidebar. The old blog was averaging over 700 pageviews a day. One reason for this was that the old blog had over four years of content on it. I lost all the content. This new blog is only about four months old.
However, this blog is beginning to average over 100 pageviews every day. That’s not much, but it’s a move in the right direction. 200 pageviews every day by the end of the year is doable.
Pirates Are Winners
Yes, this blog is about many things: writing, flash fiction, sex, poetry and local sports. A couple of nights ago, the Pittsburgh Pirates won their 82nd baseball game this season. It was the first season that this has happened since 1992. That means a winning season for this team.
Pittsburgh Pirate baseball fans are celebrating. Everything else this team accomplishes this season will be gravy. (Fans expect the team to make the playoffs.)
Yesterday, for some reason I had a hankering for Ramen Noodles. Don’t ask me why. I already had a package of the noodles, but I needed something to add to them. So, I marched to Little Italy for a green pepper, an onion and two kinds of Mackerel. I bought a six-pack of beer and the Old Soldier had his feast.
This is the Old Soldier reporting from Pittsburgh.
