Hello, all you rock ‘n’ rollers all over the world! Well, all the news reports say the City of Pittsburgh has received around six inches of snow and that should be it for awhile. I’m waiting to see what the weather will be like on February the 6th when I give my next karaoke performance at Nico’s in Little Italy. But I’ll probably be back at Armand’s in Little Italy (drinking beer and thinking deep thoughts) later this week, but definitely on the first of next month. I need a change of scenery. I have cabin fever and I always find inspiration for new blog posts when I hang out in Little Italy.
Last night I did listen to some music by The Doors on YouTube. Actually, I listened several times to the three songs I hope to perform on the 6th. The process of emersion has begun. When I get up in front of an audience I don’t want to think. I just want to be.
The AFC and NFC championship games are today. I’ll listen to the games on the radio as I stretch out on the sofa with two pillows under my weary head, reading my library books or watching movies on YouTube.
I’ve really evolved as a fan of professional football, from an avid fan to a casual fan. Actually, I’m rather mystified how much people invest of themselves in a game played by millionaires. I’ve become a cynic in my old age.
Yesterday, I listened in fascination as one of the host of the local 24/7 sports talk show became livid with a fan who called in and did not agree with him. Of course, I’m no fool. It makes for great radio and these talk show hosts know that. But still…
I’m glad I’m invested in blogging and karaoke.
