Yes, it’s the day after Thanksgiving. I just came back from the dollar store across the street from my apartment building. I got lunch meat, soda, milk, mayo…You know. Stuff like that. I’m happy with the total price of my purchases. I would have paid more any place else. And now I’m back in my small, scruffy but cozy apartment and I’m at peace with myself (even if the world is at war with itself).
Tuesday I’ll be back on my beat in Little Italy. But now I’m going to assume my favorite position on the sofa: flat on my back with two pillows under my head and as I munch on a couple of bologna sandwiches, olives, slices of green pepper and diced onions and sip on Pepsi I’ll read my books from the public library and listen to University of Pittsburgh football when it comes on the radio at noon.
As of this moment (it’s around ten in the morning local time) the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette has gotten 5,025 visitors and 15,132 page views for November 2015 and three are still three more days to go.
