I had not heard the album Waiting For The Sun by The Doors in years until last night. I punched it up on YouTube.
Critics have always panned this album by The Doors. They said it didn’t measure up to the first two albums. I was even taken in by this attitude and for years claimed to anyone who would listen that this third album was proof that The Doors had obviously started to decline.
I am so glad I got to listen to Waiting For The Sun again last night. The years had cleared my mind. The album is awesome. True, it doesn’t measure up to The Doors and Strange Days, both were transcendent albums, but it is an awesome album and captures why The Doors were so unique and why the band’s music is still relevant to this day.
