Hello, hello, hello, fans of the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette who live all over the world! When people ask me what do I do, I don’t tell them I’m retired. I tell them I’m a full-time blogger. The conversation goes something like this.
“I’m a full-time blogger.”
“A full-time blogger. Is that how you make your living?”
“Ah, well no. I live off of my…my…my investments.”
“Your investments. You own stock?”
“Social security and two pensions.”
“Then you’re retired.”
“I work longer hours as a full-time blogger than I ever did working for someone else.”
Ha ha ha…
I don’t get insulted, because I’m having a blast as a full-time blogger. I’m finally putting to good use that MFA in fiction writing that I got from the University of Pittsburgh in 2006.
Of course, blogging has its ups and downs. Views and visitors to this blog have steadily increased since April of 2015 when the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette got 7,100 views and 2,126 visitors. Last month (December 2015) this blog got 18,026 views and 6,039 visitors. I think January 2016 will be the first time in 10 months that my little girlie magazine may not increase its views and visitors over the previous month. As of this morning this blog has 12,018 views and 4,461 visitors for January 2016; but there are still 10 days left in this month so I still have a chance to beat December’s record. And I’m still confident that 2016 will be a good year for the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette.

You definitely don’t have to live in Pittsburgh to enjoy the mix of commentaries, culture, film and television reviews, sexy stories and topless women that make up the content of this blog.

Hail to Pitt!
Today in the city there will be a mix of clouds and sunshine with a high around 25.
